The existing Point Manalapan Guardhouse, which is more than 60 years old, no longer adequately supports the Town’s current security and operational needs. The proposed replacement will provide a modern, purpose-built entrance facility that enhances security, improves functionality, and creates a more visible presence at one of the Town’s primary gateways.
The new 248-square-foot guardhouse has been thoughtfully designed to fit within the existing footprint while increasing the usable interior space by more than 150 square feet. Expansive windows will provide guards with improved sightlines and visibility of incoming and outgoing traffic, enhancing overall security monitoring. The facility will also feature two guard stations, an ADA-compliant restroom, a small kitchenette, and upgraded security technology to support modern operations. Designed with a durable dark gray metal roof and an architectural style that complements the surrounding community, the new guardhouse will provide a safer, more efficient, and functional workspace while improving the Town’s ability to monitor and secure access to Point Manalapan.
