Welcome to the Manalapan Police Department. This website is an opportunity to introduce the public to our great group of employees and the services we provide our residents and those who visit this wonderful community. The police and communications officers who comprise the department are dedicated to providing Excellence Through Service. With the retirement of Chief Walker, Carmen Mattox has been named as Police Chief. Carmen was born and raised in Palatka, Florida where he was an Eagle Scout. He served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. He has his A.A. from Palm Beach State College and is currently working on his Bachelor’s in Criminology. He began his law enforcement career in North Palm Beach where he served for ten years. He started with Manalapan in 2001 and was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant in 2006.
Carmen is a Certified Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor and is a member of the International Association of Law Enforcement Firearms Trainers. Chief Mattox is excited about the opportunity to lead one of the best Police Departments in Palm Beach County and to continue to serve the wonderful community of Manalapan.
